Title: The Girl Next Door
Tag line: There are two sides to every story
Sub-genre: Psychological Slasher
Characters: Villain (enigmatic man) and child (psychological alter ego, mind)
Victims, teenagers and main girl (vulnerable) who are the neighbors
Location: Street, house, large Victorian houses, cupboard, forest/woods
Why: Psychological mind, demented character is why he kills. Chooses who his victims before they move in.
Act one: Equilibrium set by neighbors moving in to a new house, meet the next door neighbor (the villain), and seems strange. Things next door create suspicion in victims. Introduced to villain which creates enigma (Barthes) and sets up for disequilibrium.
Act two: Villain starts to stalk his victims, the “first girl” goes for a jog in the forest and is killed. The other victims are killed one by one. Also introduced to the other side of his mind, the girl in the cupboard, during act two which sets the psychological theme.
Act Three: We find out he has chosen the people who move next door before they even knew they would. Also all victims are killed apart from a last girl standing. Find out the girl in the cupboard and the villain are the same person with a demented mind.
